On June 24, China’s number of high-risk areas for COVID-19 transmission was brought to zero again. In total, there are currently nine medium-risk areas in China, all of which are in Guangdong Province (4 areas in Guangzhou, 2 areas in Foshan, 1 area in Shenzhen, and 2 areas in Dongguan).

China reported on Thursday 85 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the mainland for Aug. 4, down from 96 a day earlier, according to the National Health Commission. Of the new infections, 62 were locally transmitted, the health authority said. China reported 54 new asymptomatic coronavirus cases, which it does not classify as confirmed infections, compared with 27 a day earlier.
