Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Tuesday that the province expects the number of COVID-19 cases will increase in the coming days because of expanded testing.
Dr. Hinshaw reported 138 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the provincial total to 1,870. There have been two new deaths, including one at the McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre. That facility had 21 COVID-19-related deaths as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Dr. Hinshaw.
On Monday, Alberta announced it had expanded its testing to anyone with symptoms, including cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat or shortness of breath.
