Singapore confirmed 142 cases of COVID-19 infections on April 8, its biggest one-day jump. One of them -- Case 1604 -- is a 32-year-old Indian national who was confirmed to have the virus after he died. Of the new cases, 40 are linked to foreign worker dormitories. There are now 253 confirmed cases at nine dormitories. Meanwhile, 29 patients were discharged. In all, 406 cases have fully recovered. 669 patients remain in public hospitals, with 29 in critical condition. Another 542 cases are recovering in private hospitals and the community isolation facility.
