South Korean officials have called the COVID-19 situation a "crisis" and have raised the alarm that a third wave of infections has started. The alert level in the Seoul region could be raised even higher if infections are not quickly contained. The capital region has reported a daily average of 153 cases for one week. Nationwide, South Korea reported more than 300 infections on Nov 20 for the third straight day. Tougher distancing measures would include the ban on gatherings involving 100 or more people. Some high-risk facilities will also need to suspend their operations.
