Here are the top global cues for the day:

1. USA
- On Wednesday, the Dow climbed more than 300 points
- After being up more than 550 points on hopes of a second stimulus package
- The S&P 500 also registered a gain, climbing more than 0.8%
- The Nasdaq rose 0.75%, helped by gains in Netflix and Microsoft
- The House of Representatives delayed the vote on a $2.2 trillion rescue package
- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi & Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin failed to strike a coronavirus aid deal
- However, the pair said the conversation would continue 
- Dow futures rose 115 points
-?S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures ticked up 0.25% and 0.3%

2. ASIA 
- Japan’s Tokyo Stock Exchange suspended trading on Thursday due to a technical issue
- Many major markets in the region are closed for holidays
- Meanwhile, the S&P/ASX 200 in Australia gained 0.87%
- Singapore’s Straits Times index also rose 0.87%
- Markets in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan are closed on Thursday for holidays
- Overall, the MSCI Asia ex-Japan index traded 0.19% higher

3. EU
- The Stoxx 600 was marginally in positive territory, having fluctuated since the open
- Banks added over 1%, while industrials slipped 0.5% 

4. GOLD
- Spot gold was 0.3% lower at $1,892.33 per ounce
- Spot down about 4% in September, on track for its worst monthly performance since Nov. 2016
- U.S. gold futures settled down 0.4% at $1,895.50

5. OIL
- West Texas Intermediate settled 93 cents, or 2.37%, higher at $40.22 per barrel
- Brent crude fell 8 cents to $40.95 per barrel
